UIL district 12-2A Championship
Congratulations to the Trenton High School Cross Examination Debate Team for winning the UIL District 13-2A Championship.  Amanda Davis and Elizabeth Rhoden earned first place medals and their fourth consecutive trip to the State Championship Tournament to be held at UT-Austin.  Amanda Davis earned the "Best Speaker" award.  Stacia Gray and Alaina Davis earned fourth place medals and Riley Stringer and Moises Aguilar finished fifth.  CX Debate is coached by Byron Holland and sponsored by Robin Sweet.

Cross Examination Debate trains students to analyze a problem, conduct thorough and relevant research, and utilize principles of argumentation and advocacy in presenting the most effective case for or against a given proposition.  Debate provides invaluable training in critical thinking, quick responses, defending worthy ideas and attacking invalid ideas.  Debate exists only in democratic societies, and no democratic society can exist without debate.  Trenton High School is very proud of our Cross Examination Debate Teams!
